At “Talented Child,” we are a dedicated group of youths from Naifaru who are deeply concerned about the future of our island’s young generation. Our commitment stems from a shared belief in the importance of equipping our children with the necessary skills, values, and attitudes to thrive in today’s world. We initiated this program in response to a significant gap we observed: many students leave school without acquiring enough practical skills to succeed in various vocational
fields.

At “Talented Child,” we are a dedicated group of youths from Naifaru who are deeply concerned

Our vision is to empower the youth across the Maldives with essential skills, safety awareness, and practical experience to foster self-reliance and drive community development. Through the “Talented Child” program, we aim to build a generation of confident and skilled individuals who can contribute to a sustainable and prosperous future for the entire nation.

— Our Story

The “Talented Child” program was born out of a profound concern for the future of the youth in Naifaru and beyond. As a group of dedicated young individuals from Naifaru, we witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by our community, particularly the lack of essential skills among school leavers. This gap often led to a dependency on expensive expatriate labor for basic household tasks, leaving many local families financially strained.
Driven by a vision to change this narrative, we came together to launch the “Talented Child” initiative. Our goal was clear: to equip the younger generation with practical skills that would not only empower them personally but also benefit our entire community. We started by offering training in essential trades such as electrical wiring, refrigeration, welding, engineering, and carpentry. We emphasized safety awareness and hands-on experience, ensuring that our participants could apply their skills confidently and responsibly.
Our journey began on the island of Naifaru, but we quickly realized that the need for such training extended far beyond our shores. The enthusiasm and positive feedback from our initial participants and their families inspired us to expand our reach to the entire Maldives. Today, the “Talented Child” program stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for young people across the nation.
Through this program, we aim to reduce the reliance on external labour and foster a culture of self-reliance and innovation among the youth. We are proud to see our participants grow into skilled, confident individuals who are not only capable of contributing to their households but also poised to drive the future development of their communities.
Our story is one of passion, dedication, and a steadfast belief in the potential of our youth. As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain committed to our mission of empowering the next generation with the skills and knowledge they need to build a brighter, more sustainable future for themselves and for the Maldives.
